Demand Planner - Buyer
Our client? They partner with their licensors to design, market and globally distribute the most iconic brands in the world.
The Planner will oversee all aspects of buying and planning management for the branded product with the
consideration of our retail partners and is financially accountable to drive results.
Partner with the Sales team and Merchandising to forecast sales, margin and inventory turn by month,
brand/division and account/customer/size range
Validate plans, ensure external and internal sales and profit criteria
Analyze current sales trends and on-order to adjust forecast accordingly
Plan and project receipt flow(s) and manage model stock levels necessary to support sales forecasts,
profit margins and allowance goals for brand(s)
Develop knowledge of geographic and store-attribute performance and trends to employ strategies
Track sales related to markdowns to ensure margin performance and effectiveness of strategies
Identify and explain opportunities within brands/divisions and individual accounts, down to the door level
Provide direction to Brick & Mortar partners to ensure adequate flow/depth of common assortment
merchandise; accountable for determining flow strategy
Prepare merchandise plans by analyzing items purchased and requested by product category, type,
quantity while studying season floor space and plans
Integrate sales forecasts to specify quantity of items and when they should be purchased
Special projects as assigned
Min. of 4 years relevant planning capabilities
Experience and knowledge of retail fluency and account profitability models to
understand the industry.
Experience and track record of success working with internal and external stakeholders
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to clearly articulate
goals and objectives.
Able to influence both cross functionally and vertically within the industry and
marketplace and negotiate to obtain the best results for the company
Fluent in English.
Min. Bachelor or higher in the field of operations or economics. Can be compensated
by relevant work experience
Willingness to go the extra mile when needed, understanding that global
communication can be on occasions outside normal office time lines
